Frequently Asked Questions

Water Damage Restoration

What methods do you use for water extraction and drying?

We use a multi-step process with high-capacity extraction equipment, industrial dehumidifiers, and powerful air movers to completely remove water and thoroughly dry all affected areas.

Can I receive a detailed restoration plan and timeline before work begins?

Absolutely. We provide a comprehensive restoration plan and clear timeline during our initial assessment so you know exactly what to expect before any work starts.

What steps do you take to prevent further structural damage after water extraction?

After extraction, we immediately implement drying and dehumidification measures, conduct detailed inspections, and use moisture mapping to identify vulnerable areas, ensuring we protect your structure from further damage.

How do you assess the full scope of water damage in my property?

Our certified technicians perform a thorough inspection using advanced moisture meters and thermal imaging to detect hidden damage, allowing us to create a tailored restoration plan that covers every affected area.

What safety and sanitation measures are in place to protect occupants during restoration?

We prioritize safety by adhering to strict protocols and using eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning agents. Our methods ensure a safe, sanitized environment for all occupants throughout the restoration process.

Are your technicians certified and experienced in water damage restoration?

Yes, our team is IICRC-certified and highly experienced in water damage restoration, equipping us to handle even the most challenging projects efficiently and safely.

Can you restore both residential and commercial properties?

Absolutely. Whether it’s a home, office, or large commercial space, our expert team is dedicated to restoring your property with the same level of precision and care.

Do you provide on-site storage for items that require extra care?

Yes, we offer contents pack out and secure on-site storage.

Should I contact a plumber for the repairs?

If water is coming in from a sewer drain in your home, please call a plumber immediately to clear the line before calling us to start your dry out/cleanup process. If the water is coming from a burst pipe or an appliance, toilet, bathtub or other source of running water, you must have a third party repair the source before we can begin the clean up or restoration process.

Can Lipscomb determine the source or detect the leak?

Woodard does not repair the source of the water, it is best to call a third party to identify the source of the leak and make the repair.

What should I do prior to your arrival?

Have the source of the water repaired or shut off before we arrive. If possible, move valuable items out of the water to prevent additional damage.

What type of water damage can you handle?

We handle all types of water losses, everything from a Category 1 to Category 3.

Category 1:
Clean water (broken pipes, sink overflows)

Category 2:
Gray water (sump pump failures, hydrostatic pressure, dishwasher overflow)

Category 3:
Black water/sewage (sewer backup, mold, flood water)
